What are TAE500’s Cultural & Diversity Capitals of the Americas? Cities in the United States, Latin America which we will select annually to highlight their Multi-Culturalism, Tourism, Quality of Life, the Americas Added Value to successfully achieve TAE500’s mission and goals
Why Launch TAE500 Now, on 2007? AGF is launching "The Americas Encounter - 500 Years®" monumental program in 2007 to recognize the unique historic fact of the naming of America. Christopher Columbus discovered the new continent on October 12, 1492 which he baptized “The Indies” not America, and their inhabitants, “indians” not Americans. In 1507, German cartographer Martin Waldseemüller produced a World Map, on which he stamped the name “AMERICA" in an area of present-day Brazil/ Uruguay/ Paraguay/ Argentina making said Map the first known document that names America.
The Library of Congress, after nearly a century search efforts found and purchased the only known Waldseemüller’s copy and officially recognized said Map as the "America's Birth Certificate," which is on exhibit at the Library. Thus, The Library recognizes the year 1507 the Birth of America; hence 2007 is "America’s 500 Birthday” (1507 -2007); and this is why AGF is launching The Americas Encounter - 500 Years® on 2007. At http://www.loc.gov/rr/geogmap/waldexh.html you may see the Map and zoom in to read the word AMERICA in the bottom left-hand panel of 12 panels.

“The Americas Encounter -500 Years®" America’s 500th Birthday (1507- 2007)
Washington, DC, October 19, 2007. The President/Founder, Victor Pinzon, of Americas Global Foundation (AGF), 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization (www.theamericas.org) announces his 100% support to the U.S. Congress and The Library of Congress’ decision clarifying history that: 1. America was born in the year 1507 and not October 12, 1492 2. The America’s Birth Certificate is the Martin Waldseemüller’s 1507World Map Thus, the current year 2007 is “America’s 500 Birthday” 1507-2007
The German cartographer Martin Waldseemüller applied the name AMERICA on his 1507 World Map in an area of present-day Brazil/ Uruguay/ Paraguay/ Argentina -the first time that the name America appears on any known document. The U.S. Congress reportedly provided to The Library of Congress $5 million of the $10 million that The Library paid to purchase the Waldseemüller’s 1507World Map in 2003 to German Prince Waldburg-Wolfegg, whose family owned the only known copy of said Map found in his German castle.
U.S. Congressman and Majority Leader, Stein Hoyer, representing Congress and the people of the United States at the official Transfer Ceremony of the Waldseemüller’s 1507World Map last April 30, 2007 from Germany, represented by its Chancellor, Angela Merkel, at The Library of Congress.
After years of intensive research, studies, investigation, travels, analysis, substantial investment and efforts on this issue AGF’s Victor Pinzon decided that this clarification of history: that the year 1507 is America’s Birthday and 2007 is “America’s 500 Birthday” 1507-2007, is of such magnitude offering an opportunity for the people of the Americas to celebrate America’s 500 Birthday and thereby launched "The Americas Encounter - 500 Years® 1507 – 2007” within a highly positive and spectacular format.
"The Americas
Encounter - 500 Years® 1507 – 2007” (TAE500) is AGF’s

“The Americas Encounter -500 Years®" America’s 500th Birthday (1507- 2007)
Washington, DC, October 17, 2007. The President/Founder, Victor Pinzon, of Americas Global Foundation (AGF), 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, founded in 1991 (www.theamericas.org), announces the launching of "The Americas Encounter -500 Years®”(1507- 2007) at the U.S. Capitol first week of December 2007based on the new evidence that America’s Birthdate is 2007 and not October 12, 1492.
Clarifying History: Fact: Christopher Columbus discovered the new continent on October 12, 1492 which he baptized “The Indies” not America, and their inhabitants, “indians” not Americans. Columbus baptized the new land “The Indies” and their inhabitants, “Indians” in representation of his expedition’ sponsors: the King and Queen of Spain.
Fact: Columbus did not name the new continent America. Columbus believed then and to the last day of his life in 1506 that he had found a new way to Las Indias, the exotic land of spices and riches. Columbus apparently did not understand nor believed he had found a new continent.
Fact: The King and Queen of Spain believed and supported Columbus and named the new land: “The Indies Kingdom” or “The Western Indies”
Fact: Spain did not name the new land America but the “The Indies Kingdom” or “The Western Indies” and named their inhabitants “Indians” no Americans.
Fact: The first time that the name America appears on any known document, according to The Library of Congress, is the World Map produced in 1507 by Martin Waldseemüller. The German cartographer stamped the name “AMERICA" in his Map in an area of present-day Brazil.
Fact: The Library of Congress, after more than 100 years of searching, found, confirmed and in 2003 purchased for $10 millions the only known copy of Waldseemüller’s 1507 Map. The U.S. Congress provided $5 of the $10 million to purchase the Map. Visitors may see the Map at www.loc.gov/rr/geogmap/waldexh.html and zoom in to read the word AMERICA in the bottom left-hand panel of 12 panels. Also on the next page you may see a photo of the map courtesy of ViP/TLQN/ALTEX.
Fact: The Library of Congress officially recognizes the Waldseemüller’s 1507 Map as the “America’s Birth Certificate” and the year 1507 as “America’s Birthday”!!
Thus, the current year 2007 is “America’s 500 Birthday”
After more than two years of intensive
research, studies, investigation, travels, analysis, substantial
investment and efforts on this issue Victor Pinzon produced and decided
to launch "The Americas Encounter - 500 Years® 1507
– 2007” recognizing the significant valuable efforts of The
Library of Congress in helping to clarify history.
