(AGF) (formerly The Americas Foundation -TAF) is ready to
offer to its members:
INVITATION to
AGF and
Conferences in Miami and Orlando
The President and Founder of The Americas Foundation, Mr. Victor Pinzon, accepted
the invitation of Mr. Francisco J. Gonzalez of Holland & Knight LLP
to visit Miami, May 13 to 15, to make two presentations to a number of officials and
personalities of South Florida. The purpose of the presentations is to inform of some of
the opportunities The Americas Foundation offers through its Washington, DC
offices; and to engage some of Miami's movers and shakers in becoming involved in some
specific programs that will benefit the participants, the South Florida community, Latin
America and the Caribbean.
The following is the agenda of Mr. Pinzon's presentation:
1. A brief presentation of The Americas Foundation, TAF, mission, history, accomplishments
and some of the valuable opportunities it offers to the South Florida community through
its Washington, DC offices, including its recent strategic alliance established with the
Smithsonian Institution.
2. Establishing a students and young professional leadership program, which involves
inviting those selected individuals to Washington, DC for specific internships and other
leadership component program.
3. Developing an active Steering Committee to raise support and contributions for TAF's
unique initiative to build "La Casa de las Americas in Washington". Said
ambitious initiative launched two months ago has already the strong support and pledges of
nine Ambassadors and seven US Congressmen.
4. Developing the initial South Florida base of TAF's members interested in joining the
Americas Media and Internet Email Network, AMIEN, for political advocacy
5. Exploring the possibility of initiating in the near future two other programs in South
Florida: dealing with training Hispanics and other economic disadvantaged ethnic groups in
low high tech and contributing to bring these important groups into the
"mainstream" of American life.
