As our friend the City of Orlando Commissioner, Ernest Page wrote to us: "Efforts such as this can do nothing but to bring the people of all cultures, backgrounds, races, etc. together."
The following dignitaries have accepted to be Honorary Co-Chairs of the two events:
Ambassador of Venezuela, Alfredo Toro Hardy
US Congressman Thomas Davis
US Congressman Albert Wynn
US Congresswoman Connie Morella
Reception and Press conference
We are happy to report that the Ambassador of Venezuela agreed also to host a Reception and Press Conference at his residence next August to launch the two events. We are inviting to said Reception the Honorary CoChairs, LACAW's Honorary Founding members, Ambassadors, US Congressmen, Senio Federal officials, Sponsors, The Washington Ballet, active members of our Steering Committee and Committees, other personalities, and of course members of the local, national and international media.
Again, I remind you that these two events are designed to launch our most ambitious project to build and operate La Casa de las Americas in Washington. They are the first two events of over 100 events we plan to organize throughout cities of our Hemisphere and beyond to promote LACAW, unity and raise funds for the building.
