Leaders and Ethics
What leaders say about ethics is important. People should watch more closely and take to task their leaders. The more ethics are talked about, the stronger they will become. Talk is a starting point. People will or should watch the communitys leaders carefully and constantly to confirm that their behavior reflects what they say. There are two key functions of leadership: set limits and give direction. Our leaders must set limits by taking concrete steps to eliminate corruption in government and business. Then setting direction by talking and developing comprehensive Code of Ethics to be adopted and implemented by everyone. And, the most significant component is that leaders become the ethical role models of the community at all time. Paul Ransom, founder of the Adirondack School for Boys, wrote: "The people in this world may be divided into three great classes, according to the attitude they hold to life. The people in the first class believe, or seem to believe, that hey were put into the world to see how much they can get out of it "The people of the second class is made up of those who do not give life any thought at all who do not like to think very deeply of anything "The third class are people who believe that they are in the world not so much for what they can get out of it as for what they can put into it They believe in work and are anxious to do their share of it. They do not shirk the great problems of life, but meet and solve them. It is to these people that the world is indebted for all the progress that has been made in the past, and to them it must look for all hope of progress in the future." Paul Ransom went on to say to his prospective students that only if they sincerely wanted to be counted among the third class of people, would they be invited to attend his school. Our leaders must clearly be those of the third class, who are prepared to meet and solve the great problems of life, including attacking and eliminating corruption and building a strong ethical community. When their talk is proven by their behavior, others will want to join them. Victor Pinzon and Americas Global Foundation, similarly as Paul Ransom, invite those people of the third class to join the Foundation

This letter is to offer our update of The Americas Foundations (TAF) accomplishment within the last few months. This is truly an exciting time for The Foundation. One of the purposes of this listing is so you can help us increase our paid membership. It is essential that we have dues paying members in order to sustain the important work of The Foundation. We also encourage you and your friends and acquaintances to donate or contribute to TAF.
We have been hard at work in order to provide the kind of opportunities that Hispanic Latinos need and the kind of fair free trade we all need. The work of The Foundation has never been clearer, the mission never more focused, and our role has never been more important. It is time, however, with our renewed energy and our renewed focus that we get everyone involved.
First, and foremost among some of
our recent accomplishments, is launching our ambitious initiative
Second, launching the long and challenging development of our Web site. We believe our new Web site will allow us to communicate, as we have not been able to do it before, and get feed back from our member and interested people from around the country, the Americas, and other places.
Third, The White House has once again recognized The Foundation, this time our outreaching efforts towards Latin America and the Caribbean. President Clinton has placed us in a working relationship with the State Department.
Fourth, continuing our programs with Latin America and the Caribbean, we extended invitations to the Presidents of Colombia and Ecuador to various meeting/conferences in Washington, DC. TAF's purpose is to contribute to their countries economic development and strengthening their democracies -which is TAF's goal for Latin America and the Caribbean. The State Department and various members of the U.S. Congress support our said initiative.
Fifth, I am also pleased to report that we were accepted to participate in the 1998 Combined Federal Campaign and the 1998 United Way Campaign. The Foundation. will continue working or establishing strategic alliances with the local non-profit and philanthropic organizations in the Metropolitan Washington area and throughout the country in order to receive the needed resources to implement our mission and goals.
I fully realize that at times we have not been able to fully communicated our mission and goals, and our accomplishments. We pledge to keep you, as a member of The Foundation, more fully informed of our activities in the future. We are now at the point in our history where in continuing to challenge others to join us in our efforts, and along with all the other happenings and great challenges we are poised to make what has been some very wonderful ideas into some very wonderful realities.
Please visit our Membership page in this web site; please fill it out, then submit it with your payment and/or contribution, donation.
With your help The Americas
Foundation will be an overwhelming success and a truly unique and special non-profit
organization. Remember, our ultimate goal is to build up the foundation of the Americas,
and thus we call our endeavor The Americas Foundation. God bless you.
And, remember, United We Prevail.
Un fuerte abrazo,
