Washington, DC, February 7, 2000. The Americas Foundation's (TAF) Luis Delgado, George Filippides and Victor Pinzon were received by US Congressman Thomas M. Davis and his staff assistant, Mr. Hector de Leon, on this date.

The purpose of the meeting was to explore certain issues, to offer some proposals and invitations to Congressman Davis related to the impact of the Hispanic community and Latin America in the Metropolitan Washington Area and the US.

He is member of the House of Representatives Committee on Government Reform where he serves as Chairman of the Subcommittee on the District of Columbia, is member of the Government Management, Information and Technology Subcommittee and is also a member of the House Commerce Committee. In November 1998, Congressman Davis was elected by the House Republican Conference as Chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee for the 106th Congress.

Specifically Pinzon invited Congressman Davis to:

with Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton and Mayor Anthony Williams. TAF has been advocating
equal opportunities, equal access to, representation of Hispanics at top levels. Also to secure
resources for certain Hispanic NGOs of the District of Columbia to implement the needed
outreaching to and empowerment of Hispanics, including TAF's efforts to promote Washington,
DC in Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal.
    2. In securing some seed resources for TAF's Americas Computer Literacy Training To Work,
