I met you last June during the Peace Corps celebration on the night the ambassadors spoke. My name is Rena Maez. Currently, I'm serving with the Peace Corps in Romania. Although I still have a year and a half left of my service, I am looking into what I can do after Peace Corps. As a young, motivated Latina, I believe that I can contribute my skills to the people your organization helps. I have faced many obstacles to be where I am at now, and I believe that I can help empower other people with my experience. I have a strong interest in working in South America and with young people.
Since your organization has similar motives, I thought perhaps you could give me some advice in which manner I can most effectively use my skills.

El Comite Maya Internacional con domicilio en Merida, Yucatan,Mexico, se interesa principalmente en la promocion y difusion de la cultura maya y el desarrollo del potencial humano a través de la proteccion y cuidado de niños y sus madres en sitios especialmente previstos (care centers) para lograrlo.

It was great meeting you during the recent Pantanal conference. I really enjoyed the conference, and learned quite a lot about the area, since my experience has been limited to temperate and arctic wetlands.

It would be my pleasure to help with the graphics for The Americas Foundation website. If you have some ideas, or some hard copy of logos, etc I could work with them or from scratch. I've attached two quick things I did (let me know if you can not read attachments). One is just the logo redone to remove the "jaggies" (technically an "anti-aliased" version which appears smooth), the other an example of an "image map" graphic. Feel free to use either or neither.

PS- If you ever get a congressional delegation together to visit the Pantanal and want to bring along an academic....

Can the Americas Foundation use more funds? Even if you have grantwriters on staff, I might be able to help. I have been in the Development (fundraising) field for 18 years, including 12 years serving on staff at nonprofits, and six years running my own one-person consulting business. While I have many strengths and skills, I typically write proposals to corporate, foundation, and government prospects on behalf of my nonprofit. I can also undertake other development assignments such as researching prospects; writing direct mail text; creating capital campaign copy; "ghost writing" letters to major individual prospects; and much more.

I'm experienced, creative, effective, and affordable. I can help you on a per-project basis if you are short-handed and existing staff is swamped; if you have a large or special request that requires particular attention; or if you simply wish to benefit from an experienced, outside perspective.

Hi. I am doing a research paper for college and am looking for information on colombians in New Yor City. I have been searching the web for days and I can't find any info. I am looking for info on Colombian family life, effect and patterns of migration on the family, info on gender roles and family structure and family traditions in the United States. I can't seem to find this info anywhere and I was wondering if you could either send me some info or direct me to any web sites that may contain this information.
