La Casa de las Americas USA

Mission and Purpose

La Casa de las Americas USA is an ambitious project sponsored and managed by The Americas Foundation, conceived by ALTEX, to develop and build a very special and unique international cultural, commercial and tourist complex in the Orlando area which will be the window to the world of the Hispanic-Latin American culture and its valuable contributions to the United States and to the world.

La Casa de las Americas USA in the Orlando area- the World’s Capital of Tourism - will serve as a link to bring the peoples of the world together, to bridge the gaps of all people North-South and East-West. It will be a fabulous window to the world of the Hispanic/Latino culture. Countries of the Western hemisphere and others may have their own permanent pavilion space in the complex to show to the millions of international visitors annually the best they have to offer of their culture, products they manufacture, the tourist destinations they offer, etc. It will host top quality and professionally implemented activities, seminars, symposiums, conferences in all aspects of international/global economics, trade, tourism, education, cultural, science, health, art, sports, government, etc. It will offer the appropriate state-of-the-art facilities to stage the above mentioned activities, plus art exhibits, theatrical works, commercial exhibits, etc.; and to show through video and other media the best of the Hispanic-Latin American's cultural roots and their contributions to the world community. It will house offices of Foreign Governments and those organizations and companies with the vision and desire to take advantage of global markets and economic integration. This wonderful project is directed to countries from around the world, particularly South America, North America, Central America and the Caribbean and all other countries supporting its purpose and mission.

The Center for our Children and Youth of the Americas.

Additionally, La Casa de las Americas USA will be the Center for our Children and Youth of the Americas.

Within the complex there will be a very unique facility to provide numerous activities and programs for our Children and Youth of the Americas. We plan to provide at La Casa de las Americas USA education, training, multiple exchanges, innovative and creative programs for our youth. We will bring representatives of our diverse cultural children and youth from our Hemisphere to meet each other, to play and work with each other, to come to understand and believe -at their young ages- that there are no differences in achieving hemispheric unity and integration for the benefit of all the peoples of our Hemisphere. Thus, through LACA USA our youth will play a major role in achieving the economic integration of the Americas, by assisting to eliminate the numerous barriers which have and continue to keep us apart, such as polarization by country of origin.

Financing and Fund Raising

The financing of the development and construction of La Casa de las Americas USA will be done utilizing defined creative and innovative activities, programs and events which will take place not only in the Orlando area but throughout numerous cities and capitals of countries of the Western Hemisphere and others, involving substantial publicity and marketing. Governments, private industry, international organizations, specific entities, celebrities, artists, and individuals will be invited to contribute goods and/or services to the planning, design, and construction of La Casa de las Americas USA.

The Foundation projects the operation of the complex will be self-sufficient financially because of the market and the size it will serve, leasing space to foreign governments to develop their own country pavilions, and to numerous businesses from our hemisphere and beyond will provide the needed operational cash flow which will make the project financially feasible. The 30 million tourists visiting Orlando annually with the above stated factors and The Foundation’s total quality management approach and performance with an open and all inclusive view will make the project an exciting success benefiting the people of Orlando area, of Florida, of the United States, of our Western Hemisphere and beyond.
