Proposed Internship Program with Chile

The following is a copy of the typical text of the letters we send to potential strategic partners to explore the possibility of establishing an internship and leadership development program in our Hemisphere, or anywhere else, where there may be interest in our program.

RE:    Request to Meet on Internship and Leadership Development Program

Dear Mr. Lolas:

We, at The Americas Foundation, TAF are highly interested in establishing a strategic alliance with your university. Specifically, we seek to establish Internship and Leadership development programs involving highly motivated and global oriented university students and young Chilean adults.
Our goal is to bring to Washington, DC groups of minimum 15 selected individuals for a well designed and implemented internship / leadership development Washington program.
The selected individuals will work with and receive guidance and supervision from TAF. They may also work with or visit with US government officials in their offices at the US Congress, White House, other departments or agencies, multilateral organizations, etc.
The experience the selected persons will obtain will be invaluable as to how the Washington protocol and process works, along with valuable and lasting relationships that they may establish. Furthermore, they will become members of TAF, and thereby members of an international dynamic growing network of young, professionals, and entrepreneurs movers and shakers -our future Hemispheric leaders.
The financing of our proposed program will primarily be local -public and private sectors- as is normally being done in similar programs operating in Washington, DC. I can explain all the details of this and all other aspects of our proposal in the event your university may be interested.
Were you to be interested, I would like to meet with you or any other official during my scheduled visit to Santiago. I will be in Santiago Sunday, August 22 through early 27. I am going to be very busy participating in the global Internet ICANN conference that will take place at the Crown Plaza Hotel and Universidad de Chile. I will stay at Hotel Presidente Santiago the first two nights .
For information about TAF, our mission, goals, history, accomplishments, projects, programs, events, legislative agenda, our illustrious friends and supporters please visit our web site: www.theamericas.org

Awaiting your kind reply.
