Americas Heritage Festival Steering Committee Meeting
The Americas Foundation, TAF, has been working on the planning and logistics of organizing the Americas Heritage Festival in Washington, DC for over the last two years. The Festival is a fundamental component of our ambitious project of building “La Casa de las Americas in Washington.”
The purpose of the Americas Heritage Festival is multifold, as follows:
1. To celebrate the rediscovery of our America’s rich and diverse cultures as we
enter the new millennium
2. To bring us -the diverse peoples of the Americas- to work and live together
in harmony
3. To launch the project to build "La Casa de las Americas in
Washington"®, LACAW
4. To support the Children and Youth of the Americas programs within LACAW
5. To support “La Casa de las Americas” Gift Fund that we recently
established at the Smithsonian Institution.
6. To promote the District of Columbia throughout Latin America, the
Caribbean, and throughout the Hispanic Latino community in the United States
We invite you to join us, support us, become involved in any way you want as: sponsors, donors, participants, volunteers, vendors, entertainment, cultural component, exhibit or promote your goods and services, etc. Help us help you to strengthen your presence in our diverse cultural communities throughout Washington, DC, the nation and our Hemisphere.
Lets start the institutionalization of a wonderful Americas Heritage Festival in Washington, DC for the benefit and celebration of all people as we prepare to enter the new millennium.
