AHeFe Vendor's
Application Seeking Volunteers
Postponment
Washington, August 22, 2001. The Americas
Foundation (TAF)s president, Victor Pinzon, reluctantly announced the postponement
of The Americas Heritage Festival2001 because of the weather forecast to be
thunderstorms and lightning on the planned Sunday, August 26, 2001.
Pinzon, said that it is a major disappointment after the substantial
investment of resources, money and time for more than six months of intense efforts to
organize said event. However, we do not want anyone hurt. The Foundation thanks all its
sponsors, vendors, interns, volunteers and supporters. And, as Ms. Nathasha Reid,
Community Event Coordinator, of Capital Community Health Plan, one of the Festivals
Exhibitors, said: Capital Community Health Plan will be at your Festival whenever
you have it.
A delegation of 18 persons from a Guatemala Mayan community is coming
specifically for the Festival within TAFs Empowerment -Agents of Change.
TAF will provide to the members of the delegation an intense agenda during their stay in
Washington. We are currently determining the agenda due to the fact that their visit was
finally confirmed two days ago by the embassy of the United states in Guatemala.
The re-scheduled date will be announced after TAF obtains approval from
the Majors Task Force and Mr. Peter LaPorte, Chairman of the Emergency Management
Commission considering the agenda for Pennsylvania Avenue during September and October.
