The Americas Global Foundation’s charitable gift annuity program can provide you with an immediate substantial tax deduction as well as a lifetime income. Leave a Legacy for Your Beliefs
The Americas Global Foundation’s mission is to increase the number and effectiveness of leaders, mentors, “Empowerment –Agents of Change”

In pursuit of this mission, the Foundation seeks to direct a national and international effort to identify, recruit, train and place principled, hard-working motivated and passionate individuals throughout the public policy and private sectors process.

When you include the Americas Global Foundation in your will, you help train the next generation of leaders, mentors and “Empowerment _Agents of Change”
The language can be as simple and straightforward as "I hereby give, devise and bequeath to the Americas Global Foundation of Washington, DC, the sum of $______."

A bequest to the Americas Global Foundation through your will is completely free of estate tax. Since the federal tax rates for estates in excess of $675,000 start at 37% and go as high as 55%, a bequest to the Foundation can provide substantial tax savings. Even a small bequest helps promote your principles and beliefs and reduces the government's claim on your lifetime savings.

Charitable Trusts
Charitable Remainder Unitrust
You can donate cash, securities, or real estate to a charitable remainder unitrust, which will pay you a percentage of the annual value of the trust as annual income. With prudent investment, the assets in the trust will appreciate, as will the amount of income you receive. After you and any other beneficiaries pass away, the Americas Global Foundation will use the assets of the trust to support our work.

Advantages of a Charitable Remainder Unitrust

• Quarterly income for the rest of your life and, if you wish, life income for a spouse or other members of your family.
• An income tax deduction based on your age and the value of your gift and your age.
• The trust assets will not be included in your taxable estate in many cases.
• By contributing appreciated securities, you can avoid all capital gains taxes.
• By donating low-yield stock, you can, in some cases, double or triple your income and reduce your taxes.

Charitable Annuity Trusts

A charitable annuity trust operates like a unitrust in that it provides a current tax deduction, life income, and estate tax savings. An annuity trust pays out a fixed dollar amount that does not change over time and provides you with a certain amount of income each year to meet your needs.

Life Insurance

Many Americas Global Foundation’ supporters don't realize that life insurance policies, or dividends paid on the policies, make practical gifts. You can give a fully paid-up policy and deduct on your tax return its replacement cost or cash-surrender value, depending on whether the Americas Global Foundation plans to hold the policy or cash it in. You can also give policy dividends by notifying the insurance company and deducting the amount of dividends each year in figuring your income tax.

Real Estate

Gifts of appreciated real estate may be made to the Americas Global Foundation. When making a gift of real estate, which you have owned for more than one year, generally you may take a tax deduction for the present fair market value of the property.

You can donate a house, vacation home, farm, or undeveloped land to the Americas Global Foundation. These gifts can be made outright, or you may use the property to fund a charitable trust, which can provide you income for life. For such gifts you will receive an income tax deduction, estate tax savings, and -- depending on how the gift is made -- income for life.

Stocks or Bonds
Some Americas Global Foundation supporters choose to donate stocks or bonds. Like donations of real estate, this gift-giving plan can save you money. When donating stocks or bonds you have owned for more than one year, you may deduct the current fair market value of your gift from your taxes. Stock donated to the Americas Global Foundation is free of the capital gains tax.

Making a stock gift is as easy as 1, 2, 3:

1. Tell your stockbroker what kind of stock, and how many shares, you'd like to donate to the Americas Global Foundation.
2. Ask your broker to contact contribute@theamericas.org the Americas Global Foundation’s Director of Planned Giving or by calling 202 371 9696.
3. Be sure to let us know so we can give you proper credit and send you a receipt for tax purposes.
